AmoebaQuest — Privacy Policy
AmoebaQuest is published by Ennes Labs. This privacy policy describes how the AmoebaQuest Android application handles information. It is a supplement to the Ennes Labs general privacy policy, which covers the principles behind every product we ship.
Short version
AmoebaQuest does not collect, transmit, or share any information about you. It has no network access, no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and requests no runtime permissions. Everything happens on your device.
What AmoebaQuest does and does not do
What AmoebaQuest does:
- Saves your campaign progress, settings, and cached audio locally on your device using Android's standard app-private storage.
- Generates sound effects procedurally and caches them in the app's cache directory to avoid regenerating them on every launch.
- Reads and writes only within its own private sandbox, which no other app can access.
What AmoebaQuest does not do:
- Access the internet. AmoebaQuest opens no network connections of any kind.
- Use analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs.
- Require an account, sign-in, user profile, or cloud sync.
- Display advertisements.
- Offer in-app purchases.
- Access your photos, contacts, location, microphone, camera, or any other personal data.
- Integrate any third-party services or SDKs.
- Phone home to verify your purchase or check for licensing. Once installed, it runs offline forever.
Information AmoebaQuest stores locally
To do its job, AmoebaQuest saves the following on your device only, using SharedPreferences and the app's cache directory. None of this leaves your device:
- Campaign progress — which stages you've cleared, your current amoeba growth level and XP, lifetime XP, and unlocked upgrades.
- Settings — master volume, difficulty tier, colorblind mode, and button scale.
- Cached audio — procedurally generated sound effects stored in the app's cache directory. Cleared automatically when you clear the app cache.
All of this data is stored in the app's private sandbox and is not accessible to other apps. Uninstalling AmoebaQuest removes all of it immediately.
Network access
AmoebaQuest does not request the INTERNET permission and opens no network connections. There is no Ennes Labs server involved in AmoebaQuest's operation, because the app never contacts one.
Permissions
AmoebaQuest requests no runtime permissions. It does not access your contacts, camera, microphone, location, calendar, SMS, call history, storage outside its own sandbox, or any other sensitive permission.
Ownership, updates, and support
AmoebaQuest follows Ennes Labs' customer-ownership commitments:
- You buy AmoebaQuest once. There are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or in-app purchases.
- Every future update and bug fix is included — free, for as long as Ennes Labs maintains the application.
- Support questions can be sent to info@enneslabs.com at any point in the application's lifetime.
- The application doesn't contact a licensing server to verify your purchase. Once installed, it runs offline indefinitely.
Children's privacy
AmoebaQuest is suitable for all ages, including children under 13. Because AmoebaQuest collects no personal information of any kind, does not connect to the internet, does not use advertising, does not enable communication between users, and requires no account or sign-in, it complies with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as applied to minors (sometimes called GDPR-K), and equivalent children's privacy protections worldwide.
Specifically, AmoebaQuest does not:
- Collect any personal information from users of any age.
- Enable communication between users, or between users and third parties.
- Serve advertising of any kind, including behavioral or contextual.
- Use third-party analytics, tracking, attribution, or advertising SDKs.
- Share any information with any third party, because there is no information to share.
- Offer in-app purchases, subscriptions, or any transactions after install.
- Ask for any information from the player — no name, no email, no age, no anything.
Because AmoebaQuest neither collects nor transmits information about anyone, it also does not knowingly or unknowingly collect information from children under 13. There is no data pipeline through which such information could travel.
Parents or guardians with questions about AmoebaQuest's suitability for children can contact us at info@enneslabs.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and are happy to answer specific questions about the game's mechanics, age-appropriateness, or technical behavior.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how AmoebaQuest handles information, this policy will be updated and the change will be announced in the app's Play Store release notes. Any change that would result in new data collection would require an update that you choose to install; existing installed versions of AmoebaQuest would continue to behave exactly as this policy describes.
